Job Description

Role Overview: The R&D Test Engineer will play a crucial role within our engineering team. Working closely with the Product Engineering Manager, this position will support various aspects of engineering for the company. The ideal candidate will be proficient with various lab equipment and have a strong background in designing, building, and implementing testing equipment for subsystem characterization, reliability testing, and environmental testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proficiently operate lab equipment, including but not limited to thermal probes, digital multimeters (DMM), power supplies, programmable loads, and oscilloscopes. Experience with HVAC equipment is a plus.
• Design, build, and implement testing equipment for subsystem characterization, reliability testing, and environmental testing.
• Perform hands-on and data-driven root cause analysis of electromechanical and thermal subsystems using common problem-solving methodologies.
• Communicate test results and data clearly and effectively. Provide feedback and recommendations for product improvements based on test results.
• Continuously evaluate and improve testing methodologies and tools to increase testing efficiency.
• Responsible for working independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong self-motivation and time management skills.
• Must be capable of collaborating effectively as part of a team when required.
• Capable of multitasking and adapting to shifting priorities.
• Maintain a strong attention to detail and an organized test space.

Preferred Skills:

• Hands-on experience designing, building, and debugging thermal and electromechanical test setups, with a passion for understanding what it takes to make them work reliably.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC systems.
• Interest in psychometrics.
• Ability to prototype and run your own tests, from experimental setup to hardware and software implementation.

Education:

• Bachelor's or Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
