Our client is a leading building materials manufacturer who is hiring an Electrical Engineering Designer in Waco, Texas.

- Perform calculations as required on electrical systems such as sizing wire gauge for loads, safety circuits, variable speed drives, PLC I/O and generating electrical BOM’s.
- Conduct reverse engineering an electrical circuit by tracing wiring and documenting findings.
- Demonstrate proficiency with working on all types and formats of electrical schematics, cabinet back panel equipment layout and cable pull drawings at each manufacturing site.
- Conduct detailed drafting & design of electrical process systems at any one of our client’s USA plants under direction from the perspective department managers.
- Produce designs from scratch, if necessary, without verbal instruction or redlines as a starting point.
- Take detailed concepts from perspective project engineering colleagues and move them from concept to detailed engineering packages with direct oversite from the electrical project engineer. Upon detailed engineering completion, implements technical specifications, drawing sets, recommended spare parts and operating instructions/bulletins.
- Lead design review sessions with their customers to solicit feedback.
- Conduct solicitation for quotes with various suppliers, which includes development of drawing packages, and RFQ documents to be used to receive estimates for said work.
- Conduct the detailed electrical drafting & design associated with CAPEX projects in all facilities based upon project assignments. Additional responsibilities will be to support plant operations with electrical drafting assistance involving upgrades and process alterations at their perspective plant.
- Perform other duties as required.
What you need to bring to this winning team?
- 2-5 Years of proven electrical drafting / design experience with successful execution track records on safety, quality, cost, and delivery expectations in an industrial manufacturing setting.
- Proven experience using latest AutoCAD 2D Software.
- Proven experience using an Electrical Multimeter.
- Demonstrates proficient General PLC and VFD knowledge.
- Must be able to troubleshoot basic industrial manufacturing wiring issues.
- Demonstrate competency associated with all aspects of electrical drafting & design from concept to completion.
- Proven track record of demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Requires a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering preferred
- Must be hands-on, can draft, multi-task well and prioritize assignments from multiple customers.
