Job Description

Position Purpose

The Shift Lead is responsible for assisting the Site Leadership in managing total site operations for an assigned shift and delivering superior customer satisfaction by driving results and exceeding expectations in the key areas of safety, service, quality and cost. Leverages functional knowledge of forklift, pallet repair and/or sort operations, and quality control. Assists with directing the work of the forklift, sort, repair and shipping and receiving functional teams across the production floor.

*Position Hours 6p-4:45am*

Major/Key Accountabilities

Operational Execution:

• Assists with monitoring and maintaining production KPIs, day-to-day operations, and shipping schedules.
• Coordinate with team members to adjust workflow as needed, addressing immediate operational challenges to ensure site meets production and performance targets.
• Ensures smooth pallet flow from the customer to the trailers.
• May operate forklift and sort as needed.

Peer Leadership & Coaching:

• Provide hands-on peer leadership to production staff, providing direction when needed, troubleshooting, delegating, and monitoring activities.
• Support site leadership to ensure compliance to established policies and procedures.
• Participate and sometimes lead shift start-up.

Administrative (15%)

• Tracks/enters production data and safety information as needed.
• Responds to carriers via email.

Customer Service, Safety and Quality:

• Enforces policies and procedures to drive quality accuracy.
• Support site leadership with conducting quality audits and inspection of pallets.
• Participate in Safety audits, walks, and general observation of floor activity.

Adhoc:

• Other duties as assigned.
