The Studio team at Okta is a growing group within Marketing, composed of creatives, strategists, producers and marketing managers alike. Our team’s focus is to lead the brand, tell powerful stories, and inspire creative excellence. 

As a partner to cross-functional teams across all of Okta, we tie our goals to our most important company initiatives, driving towards shared KPIs, strategies, and processes to unify and push the brand and business forward.

About this role

Okta is looking for an inspired copywriter to join our Digital Creative team and help us evolve our websites, okta.com and auth0.com. Reporting into our Digital Creative Director, this person will partner with other copywriters and designers to evolve our digital experience. 

What you will do

• Work closely with the Creative Lead and teams on conceptual development, ideation, and execution across digital creative briefs
• Work cross-functionally with Brand Strategy, Digital Strategy, Content, Campaigns, Product Marketing, Development, SEO, Web Production, and Events to connect and bring to life brand and product stories on our digital experiences
• Partner with UX strategy and drive content strategy across all projects
• Collaborate closely with designers and work in Figma to create innovative storytelling experiences
• Leverage deep industry knowledge and a keen understanding of different audience types to write thoughtful and relevant copy across okta.com and auth0.com
• Help establish and apply the Okta voice and tone across all work; ability to guide other writers / project owners on the voice and tone
• Ensure consistency of the brand and apply the highest quality of copywriting across all projects
• Tell product stories in a simple, interesting, and engaging way
• Create, concept, inspire others, and roll up your sleeves while bringing creative ideas to life; deliver and receive feedback
• Ability to apply systems thinking and understand user journeys and personas
• Must be a self-starter while being comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment with internal partners, freelancers, agencies, and production partners

Your experience

• BA or BFA in Copywriting or related field
• 10+ years experience in copywriting in a creative agency or client-side group; B2B/tech experience necessary, with writing for cybersecurity or developer audiences a plus
• Hands-on expertise in developing creative solutions on websites. Extraordinary copywriting skills and strong working knowledge of content strategy.
• QA experience and attention to detail is essential 
• World-class portfolio of work
• Outstanding presentation skills and proven ability to produce and pitch world-class strategic presentations to all levels of an organization
• Passion for copywriting, language, and creative direction
