Job Description

SUMMARY Seeking an experienced underwriting professional to evaluate, underwrite, and manage D&O, Fiduciary, and Professional Liability policies, specifically within the power, utility, and energy sectors. This role requires a strong understanding of Management Liability risks, particularly D&O coverage, with a focus on assessing risk, structuring policies, and maintaining key broker and client relationships. RESPONSIBILITIES Assess and underwrite insurance risks for various entities, including private, public, and non-profits. Review submissions, financials, and key risk factors to determine appropriate coverage, pricing, and terms. Work closely with brokers and clients to negotiate policy conditions and premiums. Provide expert insight on complex risk exposures and coverage solutions. Maintain a profitable underwriting portfolio in alignment with company objectives. Analyze market trends and emerging risks to refine underwriting strategies. Collaborate with internal teams, such as claims and risk management, to ensure sound policy handling. Cultivate and strengthen broker and client relationships to drive business growth and retention. Support junior underwriters by sharing expertise and best practices. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 8 years of experience underwriting Management Liability risks. Proven success in handling complex accounts with a focus on profitability and risk management. Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience. Professional designations (CPCU, RPLU, etc.) and relevant licenses (P&C, Surplus Lines) are a plus. Strong knowledge of management liability insurance, corporate governance, and regulatory issues. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail. Proficiency in underwriting software, Microsoft Office, and industry tools.
