Position: Patient Care Technician

Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601

Shift: Nights (5x8), 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Pay: $23/hr to $26/hr

Weekly hours: 40 hrs

Job type: Contract

Responsibilities:

• Assist registered nurses with patient care .Prepare patients for assessments and procedures .
• Perform blood draws , EKGs , and other patient tests.Assist with patient transport and meal support . Monitor and document vital signs, weights, and glucose levels .
• Ensure patient comfort and hygiene (e.g., bathing, toileting).
• Ensure rooms are ready for new admissions.
• Ensure the patient environment is safe.

Required Skills:

• BLS, EKG, and phlebotomy certification.
• Experience in the Emergency Department (ED) required.
• Float between different ED units , including observation.

Education and Certifications:

• High school diploma required.Certification in nursing assistant or patient care technician (including EKG and phlebotomy ).
• BLS (AHA) Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant and Patient Care Technician certification.
