Job Description

Hylton & Associates is looking to hire a legal assistant for our litigation team.

Job duties include, but are not limited to: filing documents in state and federal court, calendaring, creating documents, supporting assigned attorneys, as well as various other tasks.

The ideal candidate would be detail oriented, organized, works well as part of a team but also independently, fast learner, can work in a fast-paced environment and can multi-task. 

Compensation is competitive and will depend on experience level. Overtime pay is available when needed, but is not required. Benefits include paid sick days, vacation days, and paid Holidays. 

Responsibilities 

• Provide general administrative support 
• Communicate with clients and witnesses 
• Prepare case-specific documents, including pleadings
• Ensure that case-related documents are well organized and available for review
• File documents in state and federal court
• Calendaring

Qualifications

• 3 years experience as a Legal Secretary in civil litigation.
• Familiarity with legal procedures, terminology, and the court system as well as law and motion practice
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized with document management experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Spanish preferred but not required
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
