Summary

Leading Department of Defense company is currently seeking for an Industrial Engineer. This position will be contractual, and the main purpose will be to get projects such as process and material flow, value stream mapping, warehousing, and MES implementation started and handed off to an entry level on-site manufacturing/industrial engineer

Responsibilities of the Industrial Engineer:

• Train and develop process and material flow procedures (physical tasks and systematic in ERP system) in coordination with entry level industrial engineer.
• Material flow should encompass material flowing into facility through receiving inspection, to warehouse, to being issued and tracked through production, and then packaged and shipped to the customer
• Work with Operational Excellence group to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency and identify areas for improvement
• Coordinate Lean Continuous Improvement initiatives to eliminate waste and improve overall efficiency – should include improvements to resource utilization, equipment layout, material flow, and labor allocation.

Requirements of the Industrial Engineer:

• BS in Engineering
• Experience working in a greenfield startup prototype/low volume environment
• Lean/Six-Sigma green belt certified (or higher)
• Trained in RCCA procedures
• Experience with DoD and government contract work
