Job Summary

Acuity Brands Lighting is looking for a dynamic individual with a strong mechanical and electrical skill set to join our team of Regional Field Support Technicians performing customer visits, start-ups, completing diagnostics on our lighting/control systems throughout the United States including Mexico and Canada. The ideal candidate will have the passion providing technical support to our internal and external customers, identifying and resolving customers challenges and escalating as required to Acuity's Engineering Teams.


The main area of focus for this position will provide coverage in the Eastern Region states as well as Mexico and Canada, as needed, for additional support. Field service visits usually consist of site visits lasting between one to five days. This position will also work closely with our Engineering Teams and Focus Factories to provide opportunities for improvements, as identified during site visits. As a trusted partner, customers will rely on our Field Support for success. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Performing on-site service needs at customer facilities in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Troubleshooting, repairing and programing lighting and control systems to determine nature of issue and resolving customer issues
  • Acting as an Acuity Technical Resource for our customers and internal engineering teams
  • Preparing necessary field reports upon completion of service visits
  • Providing on-site customer trainings

 

How you will contribute:

  • Managing project timelines while interfacing with customers and cross-functional teams throughout Acuity Brands
  • Owning and delivering customer solutions, and helping to build customer loyalty
  • Supporting lean activities and seeking continuous improvements with our Production Facilities

 

Qualified Applicants will have:

  • Degree in electrical engineering, or a related discipline
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude related to lighting and controls
  • Experience with low and high voltage (220, 240, etc) 
  • 2+ years of field experience in an electrical and mechanical background
  • Valid US driver’s licenses and passport
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Windows operating systems and able to read electrical schematics
  • Demonstrates successful experiences in collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers
  • Able to work well independently and with others
  • Able to effectively communicate solutions, responding to customers questions and other personnel
  • Strong initiative with a “make-it-happen” mindset for finding the right resolution

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires someone who is able to do the following:
  • Lift and carry 75 lbs. frequently
  • Boom lift operation
  • Stand, walk, stoop or kneel to perform the essential job functions
  • Work at up to heights of 100’ using ladders, lift equipment as required
  • Work in a variety of conditions outside and indoor elements
  • Operate hand and power tools

 

Travel Requirements

  • Required travel approximately 80%
  • Flexibility in work schedules as required

The range for this position is $46,400.00   to $83,600.00 . Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
