We have an immediate need for an Construction Superintendent in Moravia, NY.

Recently, Global Infrastructure Solutions Inc. (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients. LiRo-Hill is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Metro Park, NJ.

The client for this project is the NYS Office of General Services (OGS).

Responsibilities

  • Completion of Daily Field reports which track weather, contractor activities, sub-contractors, visitors, field directives, and manpower.
  • Project location Cayuga Correctional Facility
  • Issue project Change/Field Orders and review contractor proposals.
  • Review contractor As-Builts monthly to ensure they are updated
  • Conduct and document onsite QA/QC activities through use of First Delivery Inspections, Closure Inspections, Mock-Up Inspections, and Acceptance Testing
  • Prepare and coordinate Pre-Activity meetings prior to significant scopes of work.
  • Perform a detailed comparison of the contract drawings, specifications, and approved product submittals to ensure conformance with the contract.
  • Monitoring of sub-contractor & supplier usage to ensure pre-approval before work starts
  • Assist the contractor(s) with the coordination of activities on the construction site with the other trades and the facility
  • Monitor workforce and performance against the work plan
  • Coordinate facility training
  • Ensure OSHA 10 cards are on file for each worker
  • Ensure compliance with generally accepted standards of workmanship
  • Offer recommendations to improve constructability
  • Complete punch lists and track completion
  • Coordination and scheduling with 3rd party specialty inspections (i.e.: asbestos abatement monitoring or steel inspection)
  • Perform additional duties as deemed necessary

Qualifications

  • Minimum (6) years of experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation projects
  • Willingness to work at Correctional Facility
  • Minimum (4) years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Inspector on large scale, multi-contract building project
  • Ability to develop/communicate a project work plan, monitor manpower and performance against that work plan, and be able to perform a detailed comparison of the design drawings against each other to ensure coordination between each of the various project trades
  • Strong communications skills and a collaborative approach working with both client and construction contractor/subcontractors
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Travel Required
  • OSHA 30 Certification

  • Compensation: Minimum: Min: $40.00 hr. - Max: $50.00 hr.
  • The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position.

Exact compensation will be determined on the individual candidates’ qualifications and location.
