Job Description Responsible for providing a safe and secure atmosphere for guests and Team Members and safeguard the property and Company assets from external/internal threats. Officers are expected to respond to property related emergencies and assist to the best of their abilities whenever it is required.
Patrolling through the property (nongaming attractions, back of the house areas, hotel areas, gaming areas, and outdoor areas) by means of standing, walking, driving a motorized vehicle, or by riding a bicycle looking for disturbances, illegal activity, or safety hazards and take appropriate action when needed.
Providing a Security presence in all areas accessible to the general public.
Provide excellent communication skills (polite and professional) while interacting with guests and team members regardless of the situation and demeanor being presented.
Listen/communicate using a two-way radio and/or smartphone in fast paced loud environment.
Interact with guests and Team Members face to face or utilizing a telephone to communicate a message or investigate an incident.
Respond to emergencies in accordance with all applicable laws and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
Perform investigations related to incidents (criminal, medical, accidents, complaints, and missing property) and produce a comprehensive incident report on the subject if required.
During escalated situations, Officers are to remain composed, maintain a level tone of voice (unless a command voice is needed), be aware of proper spacing, and use professional language at all times.
Responsible for the security of all keys.
Complete required paperwork related to shift activities.
Other duties assigned by Supervisors and Management.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be able to legally own a handgun.
May be required to possess a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the Company and/or its insurers.

Gaming Card
Any other certificates or licenses required by your jurisdiction.
Annual online training assigned to Security
FEMA ICS 100 (Requires FEMA Student ID)
CPR/AED/Basic First Aid certification (completed after hire)
MOAB (completed after hire)
Defensive Tactics (completed after hire)
Pepper Spray certification (completed after hire)
Boyd Gaming approved Firearm Safety Class (completed after hire)
Boyd Gaming Security Academy (completed after hire)
Must be able to· pass an approved Boyd Gaming qualification course of fire with their duty weapon when required.
Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of a normal shift.
Must be able to: Lift - 100 Pounds. Push - 200 Pounds. Pull - 200 pounds. Carry - 100 pound.
Other physical requirements include but are not limited to: Lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, climbing stairs/ladder, typing, and episodes of moderate to strenuous physical exertion.
Must be able to utilize a desktop computer, laptop/tablet, and/or smartphone• device with the corresponding security software without assistance beyond initial training.
Exposed to weather conditions: high winds, rain, snow, dirt/dust, and temperature extremes (below 32 degrees to above 120 degrees).
Exposed to bio-hazards (bodily fluids) when encountering guests and Team Members.
Exposed to gases or fumes/odors when responding or investigating an accident, fire, or chemical spill.
Must pass Boyd Gaming approved psychological assessment and fit for duty test.
May be required to show a positive history of proven reliability (attendance history) and job performance (counseling history) before being armed. Inadequate job performance may disqualify an officer from being armed.
Prior experience in casino security (or similar field) preferred.
