Job Title: LTE/5G Signaling Gateway Solution Architect

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled LTE/5G Signaling Gateway Solution Architect to assess and define a robust signaling gateway solution that minimizes integration and migration challenges between LTE/5G packet core and ESMLC/LMF instances. The selected candidate will work closely with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to evaluate the feasibility of Tieto software appliances and Ericsson ESMLC/LMF deployments while ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing LTE/5G traffic migration activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Assessment & Solution Design

• Analyze Tieto software appliances that support LTE/5G control plane positioning signaling from MME, AMF, and NRF towards ESMLCs and LMFs.
• Evaluate existing Ericsson ESMLC/LMF solutions, considering the increasing number of instances in the network.
• Identify and address technical limitations in LTE/5G packet core integration.
• Propose a signaling gateway appliance to streamline ESMLC/LMF integration with existing LTE/5G packet core components.

2. Integration & Migration Strategy

• Assess the challenges of integrating multiple ESMLC/LMF instances with LTE/5G packet core.
• Develop a migration framework to mitigate traffic migration risks due to resource unavailability.
• Recommend solutions to minimize migration delays caused by resource constraints and customer priorities.

3. Feature & Solution Exploration

• Identify and define key features and capabilities required for a lab and production-grade LTE/5G signaling gateway solution.
• Explore available signaling gateway solutions, comparing feasibility, scalability, and resilience for production environments.
• Work with R&D teams to prototype and test potential solutions.

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Coordinate with Ericsson, Tieto, and customer teams to align technical and operational requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations for customer resource planning.
• Support stakeholder discussions to drive alignment on integration and migration roadmaps.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in LTE/5G core network architecture, signaling, and integration.
• Expertise in MME, AMF, NRF, ESMLC, and LMF network elements.
• Strong understanding of LTE/5G positioning protocols and control plane signaling.
• Hands-on experience with signaling gateways and packet core integration.
• Proven ability to evaluate, design, and recommend complex network solutions.
• Experience working with Ericsson and Tieto software appliances is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in mobile network evolution and multi-vendor environments.
• Prior involvement in network migration projects with a focus on minimizing downtime and risk.
• Familiarity with lab testing, proof-of-concept (PoC) design, and production deployment.
